The trek usually starts from Birethanti, which is about a 2-4 hour drive from the city of Pokhara. The Annapurna Base Camp is located at an altitude of 4,130 meters (13,550 feet) and offers breathtaking views of Mt. Annapurna, Mt. Machapuchare (Fishtail), and other surrounding peaks. The trek provides an opportunity to explore the glacier-formed amphitheatre surrounded by majestic mountains.

Arrive in Kathmandu and one of our representatives will receive you and then transfer to your hotel in Kathmandu. The rest of the time is free to explore the city where your hotel is located which is usually at Thamel – the popular tourist hub in Kathmandu where every needs and facilities for the tourist are located like hotels, pubs, restaurants, departmental stores, trek gear shops etc. Or you can simply rest at your hotel if you are jet lagged and get ready for an amazing Himalayan trek. Early in the morning, you will be driving from Kathmandu to Pokhara. The approximate driving time is 5-6 hours, and the distance between the two cities is around 200 kilometers. Kathmandu to Pokhara drive offers picturesque views of terraced fields, green hills, and traditional Nepali villages along the way.
As you approach Pokhara, the road begins to descend, and you’ll get glimpses of the stunning Himalayan peaks, including the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges, on clear days. Pokhara itself is located on the shores of Phewa Lake and surrounded by lush green hills, making it a popular tourist destination.

Today, we will depart Pokhara in a private vehicle. After a 2 to 4-hour drive, we will arrive at Birethanti, located at an altitude of 1,039 meters (3,409 feet). Following a couple of hours of hiking, we will reach Hile, a bustling village with numerous shops and teahouses, situated at an elevation of 1,495 meters (4,905 feet).
We will take a break to rest before embarking on our trek to Ulleri, a sizeable Magar village. This day’s walk is relatively short and easy, allowing climbers to become acquainted with the experience of trekking in Nepal. Overnight at Lodge in Ulleri (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
Leaving Ulleri, you’ll enter a dense forest of rhododendron and oak trees. The trail gradually ascends, and you’ll be surrounded by lush greenery and the sounds of chirping birds. After a couple of hours of trekking, you’ll reach the small settlement of Banthanti. It’s a good spot to take a break, have some snacks, and enjoy the panoramic views of the surrounding hills.
Continuing from Banthanti, the trail leads you through a beautiful forested path, offering occasional glimpses of snow-capped peaks. After another couple of hours, you’ll reach Nangethanti, a small village with a few teahouses where you can rest and have a warm meal.
Finally, after an hour’s walk, you’ll arrive at Ghorepani. This is a popular trekking destination with several guesthouses and teahouses. Ghorepani offers breathtaking views of the sunrise over the Himalayas, so many trekkers wake up early the next morning to hike up Poon Hill for a stunning sunrise experience. Start your day early before sunrise and embark on a hike to Poon Hill, which is renowned for its panoramic views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges. The hike usually takes around 45 minutes to an hour to reach the viewpoint from Ghorepani. Once at Poon Hill, find a comfortable spot and witness the awe-inspiring sunrise over the Himalayas. Take in the breathtaking scenery and capture memorable photographs.
After spending some time at Poon Hill, make your way back to Ghorepani. The descent usually takes around 30 minutes to an hour. Once back in Ghorepani, you can have breakfast and rest before continuing with the trek.
From Ghorepani, the trail leads through rhododendron forests and offers occasional views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. The trek to Tadapani usually takes around 6-7 hours, covering a distance of approximately 12 kilometres. Overnight at Lodge in Tadapani (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
The trail initially descends through a dense forest of rhododendron and oak trees. Enjoy the tranquil surroundings and the occasional glimpses of the Annapurna and Machhapuchhre mountains. After trekking downhill for some time, you’ll reach the Kimrong Khola, a small river that you’ll need to cross using a suspension bridge. Take care while crossing and enjoy the refreshing atmosphere by the river.
From the Kimrong Khola, the trail ascends steeply toward the village of Chomrong. You’ll climb a series of stone steps, which can be a bit challenging but offer rewarding views as you ascend.
After the ascent, you’ll arrive at the beautiful village of Chomrong, located on the lap of the Annapurna massif. Chomrong is the gateway to the Annapurna Sanctuary and the last major settlement before reaching the higher altitudes of the trek. From Chomrong, the trail descends steeply through stone steps towards Chomrong Khola, a river that flows through the valley. The descent can be a bit challenging, so take it slow and watch your step. Upon reaching Chomrong Khola, you’ll cross a suspension bridge to the other side of the river. Take in the scenic beauty of the river and the lush greenery around you.
After crossing the bridge, the trail begins to ascend again. You’ll pass through a mix of forests and small settlements as you make your way to Sinuwa. Enjoy the views and take short breaks along the way. rom Sinuwa, the trail continues through the forest, and after some time, you’ll reach the village of Bamboo. It’s a good spot to take a break and have some refreshments.
Continuing from Bamboo, the trail follows the Modi Khola (river) upstream, and you’ll trek through dense forests. After a few hours, you’ll arrive at Dovan, a small settlement located at an altitude of 2,500 meters. Rest and refuel here before continuing further. From Dovan, the trail gradually ascends, and you’ll trek through a gorge carved by the Modi Khola. As you continue, you’ll reach the village of Himalaya, situated at an altitude of 2,950 meters. The trail from Himalaya to Machhapuchhre Base Camp follows the Modi Khola (river) upstream. As you trek, the landscape becomes more rugged and rocky, with towering cliffs on both sides. You’ll ascend steadily through the valley, enjoying the stunning scenery and the sounds of the rushing river. After hiking for a while, you’ll reach Deurali, a small settlement located at an altitude of 3,230 meters. Deurali offers a good spot for a short break, where you can rest and replenish your energy.
Continuing from Deurali, you’ll encounter the Hinku Cave, a natural shelter along the trail. This cave is used by trekkers as a resting point or for protection during inclement weather. Take a moment to appreciate the unique surroundings and catch your breath.
From the Hinku Cave, the trail steepens as you climb towards Machhapuchhre Base Camp. You’ll navigate through rocky terrain and cross several streams along the way. Keep an eye out for the breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains, including Machhapuchhre (also known as Fishtail Peak).
After a challenging ascent, you’ll reach Machhapuchhre Base Camp, situated at an altitude of 3,700 meters. This is the last stop before reaching the Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) which offers stunning panoramic views of the surrounding peaks. The trail from MBC to ABC gradually ascends through a beautiful alpine landscape. You’ll trek along a narrow valley, surrounded by snow-capped peaks. As you gain elevation, you’ll pass through glacial moraines and may witness stunning views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and other prominent peaks.
After a few hours of hiking, you’ll arrive at Annapurna Base Camp, located at the foot of the mighty Annapurna massif. This is a spectacular mountain amphitheatre with panoramic views of the surrounding peaks. Take some time to rest, soak in the breathtaking scenery, and celebrate your achievement of reaching the base camp.
After spending some time at ABC, you’ll begin the descent back to MBC. The trail retraces your steps, offering different perspectives of the mountains and valleys. After breakfast, you will follow the trail from MBC to Bamboo taking you through a steep descent. You’ll follow the same path you ascended earlier, but now you’ll enjoy different perspectives of the stunning landscapes. Take your time and carefully navigate the trail, as the terrain can be rocky and challenging in some sections. After descending for a while, you’ll reach Deurali, a small settlement located at an altitude of 3,230 meters. This is a great spot to take a break, rest, and enjoy refreshments before continuing.
From Deurali, the trail continues through the picturesque valley, passing through the village of Himalaya. As you trek, you’ll encounter lush forests and streams, providing a refreshing and tranquil atmosphere. Continuing further, you’ll come across Dovan, a small settlement situated at an altitude of 2,500 meters. Dovan is known for its scenic beauty, surrounded by dense forests and the soothing sounds of the Modi Khola (river). Take a break, refuel, and soak in the serene ambience of this riverside spot.
From Dovan, the trail descends further until you reach Bamboo, a charming village nestled amidst bamboo forests. Bamboo is located at an altitude of 2,345 meters and offers several teahouses and lodges for trekkers. It’s a great place to rest, spend the night, and interact with fellow travellers. From Bamboo, the trail gradually ascends, taking you through a mix of forests and small settlements. After trekking for a while, you’ll reach Sinuwa, a village located at an altitude of 2,340 meters. Enjoy the beautiful views and take a break to rest and refuel. Continuing from Sinuwa, the trail descends towards Chhomrong. Chhomrong is a larger village located at an altitude of 2,140 meters and is known for its impressive views of the surrounding mountains. Take some time to explore the village and interact with the locals.
From Chhomrong, the trail descends through terraced fields and forests. You’ll follow a path that takes you across suspension bridges and through small settlements. Enjoy the scenic beauty and the changing landscape as you make your way towards Jhinu.
After a few hours of trekking, you’ll reach Jhinu, a small village situated at an altitude of 1,780 meters. Jhinu is famous for its natural hot springs, which are a popular attraction among trekkers. Today you follow the trail that descends through terraced fields and forests, offering scenic views of the surrounding hills. You’ll follow a path that takes you through small settlements and suspension bridges. Take your time and enjoy the peaceful environment as you make your way towards Syauli Bazaar.
After a few hours of trekking, you’ll reach Syauli Bazaar, a small village located at an altitude of 1,170 meters. Syauli Bazaar serves as a gateway to the Annapurna region, and from here, you’ll end your trekking adventure. Take some time to rest and celebrate the completion of your trek.
From Syauli Bazaar, you’ll embark on a scenic drive back to Pokhara. The road passes through beautiful landscapes, and you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy the views of hills, rivers, and rural settlements along the way. Once you reach Pokhara, you can check into your accommodation, relax, and celebrate the completion of your Annapurna Base Camp trek. Overnight at Hotel in Pokhara (Breakfast)
Early in the morning drive to Kathmandu from Pokhara. The drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu is approximately 200 kilometres (124 miles) and takes around 5-7 hours, depending on road conditions and traffic. Your drive will conclude upon reaching Kathmandu, the bustling capital of Nepal, and check in hotel. Overnight at Hotel in Kathmandu (Breakfast)
The trip concludes and our office representatives will take you to the international airport in Kathmandu to catch your onward flight to your next destination or fly back home. You need to be at least 3 hours before your flight time at the airport.
