Leading Trekking and Adventure Agency Since 1997
Trekking the blue poppy in Nepal's Langtang region is regarded as one of Nepal's most stunning trekking destinations for flora and fauna. Its main draws for trekkers and tourists are the abundance of Himalayan peaks, including the enormous Mt. Langtang Lirung Himal (7227m), the highest peak in this area, the Langtang and Kyangjing Valleys, beautiful Himalayan alpine flowers, the blue poppy flower (Meconopsis grandies), the yellow poppy (it is only seen in the Langtang region of Nepal), and the Great Himalayan Trail (GHT) High Passes. Along the Langtang Khola (River), the area is divided from the Langtang Lirung.
Meconopsis grandees, also known as the blue poppy, was previously believed to be Bhutan's official flower; however, in 2017, following three-year research by the National Biodiversity Center in Bhutan and the Blue Poppy Society in Japan,
The "Pretty Blue poppy," Meconopsis Bella, can only be found in central Nepal and southeastern Tibet.
One of the best trekking routes is through the Langtang region, which numerous researchers have designated as a safe location. Hiking in this region is rather easy, but those who want to spend their vacations in the great outdoors or take in the Himalayan Alpine flowers, blue poppies, and other varieties of flowers in these serene settings will be well rewarded.
